2014 Exemplary Community Awards

Submit your nominations through the form below, Nominations must be received by September 20, 2014 to be considered. Nominate only one person per category and only one category per nominee.

Include with each nomination a justification of 300 words or less why you feel this person is deserving of the award category in which he or she is nominated. Individuals selected will be presented awards at the Mental Illness Awareness Week Event on October 9, 2014.

How Award Winners are Selected

Selection of award finalists will be made by an independent panel of 8 to 10 members of NAMI Pasco who have not nominated anyone and will be read only the information supplied via the nomination form, excluding the name of the nominator and with out panel discussion. This panel will consist of both family members and individuals who are affected with a mental illness, they will each be supplied a ballot to check off their choices independently. Announcement of award winners will be made at the Mental Illness Awareness Week Annual Event.

NAMI Pasco Humanitarian Hope Award

Awarded to any individual in the community that has gone above and beyond for those individuals and/or their families who have been affected or are living with a mental illness.


NAMI Pasco CIT OFFICER of the Year Award

This individual must be a graduate of the 40-hour CIT training, used their training to assist a family and/or an individual in crisis and has gone above and beyond their normal duty.


NAMI Pasco ADVOCATE of the Year Award

This individual must be a NAMI member in good standing and has gone above and beyond for others who are affected with a mental illness.


NAMI Pasco PROVIDER of the Year Award

This individual is employed within the Provider agencies and/or private practice which have gone above and beyond for the families and individuals they serve who are affected
with a mental illness.


NAMI Pasco LEGISLATOR of the Year Award

This is for an elected official who has gone above and beyond their job for their constituents affected with a mental illness.


NAMI Pasco MEDIA of the Year Award

This is for anyone working within the public media business who have gone above and beyond to report or support through media activities, the awareness and education of mental illnesses.
