We Need Your Assistance to Reach the Most Vulnerable
in Pasco County — Right in Our Own Big Back Yard

Here Are Some FStageSettingtheStageacts to Help Set the Stage about the Mentally Ill in Pasco County

♦ According the U.S. Census Bureau, as of 2014, Pasco County’s population is 464,697.

♦ Of this number, 13.9% live below the poverty level—and we know that poverty is an added barrier to receiving adequate treatment for mental illness.

♦ Pasco County has the 4th highest suicide rate in the state of Florida. [http://patch.com/florida/newportrichey/pasco-has-4th-highest-suicide-rate-in-state]

♦ Of the 464,697 Pasco residents, 50,239 are U.S. Military veterans; we also know being a veteran correlates with high incidences of mental illness/substance abuse and suicide.

♦ According to NAMI, “1 in 4 people experiences mental illness in a year.” And of course their families are deeply affected too.

♦ This translates to mean approximately 116,172 or 25% of Pasco County residents could stand to benefit annually from our supports.

NAMI Pasco was the benefactor of an amazing gift from Vincent House, Journey to Wellness: A newly designed brochure and print copies. Naturally, our brochure works to help disseminate important information about our advocacy, support, and education for people living with mental illness and the families and caregivers who love them. Vincent House members and staff alike worked diligently, professionally, and with great creative input to bring the project to life.

Vincent House’s mission “is to assist, promote, and celebrate individuals recovering from mental illness, and other disabilities, in their effort to improve social and vocational skills, and become employed in the community.”

Needless to say, Vincent House, we are SO grateful
to you and believe whole-heartedly in your mission!

So print it out! Fold it!
And get it into the hands
of people who need
our help most.tumblr_mzv8f8wCkY1r0lzjao1_1280
