Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Join NAMI Pasco on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 6 to 7:30 PM for a discussion with Susan Sisson, NCC, LMHC, to learn about how Dialectical Behavior Therapy is being used successfully to help people living with brain disorders. DBT is designed to guide people in changing behavior patterns including self-harm, suicidal thinking, and substance abuse. DBT teaches people about emotional regulation and how to effectively increase awareness of emotional triggers.
DBT was originally used to treat people with borderline personality disorder, and integrates techniques associated with cognitive-behavior therapy and Buddhist meditation practice.
RSVPs are not required but much appreciated. Find everything you need to know below. Hope to see you on January 5, 2015 at the NAMI Pasco office.
